Yeah, but they were never originally intended to be in as long as they were. Their service life was extended and upgraded as an interm solution until the Eurofighter was developed. Otherwise they would probably have gotten rid of it sooner.

I am more saddenend by the eventual loss of the Panavia Tornado.

The only thing they are used for us patrolling the airspace of the Baltic states as none of them has the money to own jet fighters.
